Pre-k students spent a week exploring ICE. The activities and their observations were chronicled on this  powerpoint. The slides were used in a class science fair project. I hope that the presentation gives you some ideas. As a side note: we were fortunate to have been doing this investigation during a freeze in Austin. We also froze water outside overnight, but I failed to take a picture of it, but did record their responses...this activity tied nicely into our study of weather, also going on during this time. Using the iPods and digital microscope added an exciting dimension to the overall outcome of this project as well. 

Weather Wiz Kids Wiki (weatherwizkids.pbworks.com)

     This is a wiki that can be used during a specific or ongoing weather unit. It contains weather information, movies, and online weather activities.

Blabberize

     This is a web tool that enables you to take a picture and make it talk (by recording your voice, of course!)  It is an easy and engaging activitiy that can be used to allow students to share their knowledge.

                    Natural Resources:  A kindergarten student talks about a natural resource and why  it is important.  His picture of the natural resource was uploaded to Blabberize and then his explanation was recorded.

     Beacon Learning Center has many different science lessons that are web-based.  These would be used as whole group lessons.
